Styling For Long Hair
Hair course - 3 Full days 10-5pm - £700
- Bring writing material.
- All hair equipment, products and tools with be supplied for use during the class time.
- A set of handouts covering all the teachings on this course will be given to each student for future reference.
- Students will be taught by demonstration followed by practical sessions working on manakin heads.
Our hair course teaches a vast combination of hairstyles from the very basics through to more advanced styling. Suitable for any special occasion hairstyling, brides, commercial photoshoots and editorials. Products and equipment are provided for your use during the class time from a mixture of some of the top leading industry brands.

Course content:
Day 1: 10am-5pm
- Tools of the trade, products, equipment and hair types.
- Sectioning, twisting and braiding.
- Different types of plaiting.
- Backcombing.
- Classic French pleat.
- Concealed/fashion ponytails.
- Setting and dressing for long lasting loose curls.
- Various ways of styling the hair half up.
- Adding in and securing hair accessories.
Day 2: 10am-5pm
- Introduction to hairpieces - ponytails, wefts, synthetic and real hairpieces.
- Working with ponytail hair pieces.
- Contemporary hairstyling.
- Classic bun.
- Looping and pinning - For elegant ‘Red Carpet’ styled hair.
- Tonging techniques - How to create ringlets and spiral curls using the same tong.
- All up hairstyling with curls.
- Dangly, draping loose styles.
- Styling for thin hair.
- Techniques for creating the illusion of thicker hair for clients with hair that’s starting to thin.
- How to fit and secure fresh flowers and tiaras and where to place decorative pieces.
Day 3: 10am-5pm
- How to use weft hair extensions to create longer looking hair when down. Temporarily fixing and securing in the weft (for fast and easy removal), clip-in hair extensions and styling for a ‘Hollywood’ finish.
- Various techniques for creating barrel curls.
- Working with hair padding.
- Knotted buns.
- Finger weaving.
- Bouffant.
- Rope effects.
- Creative styling techniques.
- Portfolio building - A detailed look at a professional portfolio, advice on professional presentation, portfolio content, compatible picture matching, and advice on creating your portfolio.
